Tap Road 2

Tap Road 2 is a high speed arcade endless runner game in which you play a light ball shooting across endless neon tracks, dodging a variety of perilous hazards. Fast reflexes, sharp observation and strong focus are needed to overcome the trials and set new records.

What Is Tap Road 2?

Tap Road 2 is a fast paced adventure game where you have to accurately manage the rolling ball, tap at the proper time to avoid obstacles and collect rewards. The basic principle is the same, a light ball flying forward on a limitless neon track, and one tap to change lanes. But the sequel expands on that familiar foundation with a range of additional difficulties that keep players from depending on reflexes alone as before.

Tap Road 2 is brought to you by the makers of the extremely acclaimed Escape RoadWave Road and Traffic Road series, Azgames.io. Upon the debut of the original Tap Road, the gaming community was met with a fast-paced game where players could follow their progress simply with the numbered obstacles. Due to the strong feedback, the developers decided to create a larger sequel.

Tap Road 2 Gameplay Overview

The gameplay maintains the simple control style of the original version but adds more complex challenges. Players must carefully control the rolling ball, react quickly to unexpected situations and choose the right moment to switch lanes.

What’s New In Version 2?

This is the most interesting bit, because Tap Road 2 doesn't go the trodden path of "make it exactly the same but better". Instead, the game offers four brand-new types of obstacles, forcing players to constantly re-learn their reflexes instead of simply memorising a few familiar patterns like in the first version.

But the major change is that the game is now divided in two unique game modes.

Classic Mode

Classic Mode is the basic spirit of Tap Road: one lane, ever-increasing speed, reflexes are king. This is where the purists of the original gameplay can continue to polish their abilities.

Challenge Mode

Challenge Mode - this is the "heart" of Tap Road 2, featuring 6 totally different types of challenges:

  • Gravity Shift: Gravity starts to affect the sphere’s movement. You have to "hold" to lift the sphere, turning control from a discontinuous tap into a continuous sequence of operations, demanding a far more nuanced sense of force and time.
  • Double Lane: In this task you are put in a circumstance where you have to control two spheres at the same time. Each sphere has to dodge his own obstacles. It’s a cognitive jump in difficulty, because the brain has to interpret two streams of visual information in tandem, rather than one.
  • Blackout: Vision is very restricted. You can only see a very tiny section in front of you. Reaction time is substantially lowered, demanding faster reflexes and better intuition.
  • Orbit Run: The world around you is turned upside down in strange ways, testing the player's observation and spatial awareness ability when the familiar rules of "up, down, left, right" are no longer set in stone.
  • Ghost Trail: The sphere disappears for a second or two and you have to recall where you were and where you were going to keep control of it accurately. Reflexes become a test for short term memory.
  • Ultimate: This mode, as the name indicates, merges all the components from the 5 challenges mentioned above into a single race circuit. Reflexes, speed, observation and memory are all pushed to their utmost at the same time. For those who have really mastered Classic and want to pursue new extremes.

Improved Visual Experience

Along with the new modes, Tap Road 2 boasts improved graphics and new tracks, offering a more vibrant and varied visual experience than its predecessor.

How Does It Stack Up Against The Original Tap Road?

The first Tap Road was a simple but tough experience: guide a rolling ball down an infinite road with neon 3D visuals, just tap or swipe to change lanes and avoid obstacles, all about reflexes and high scores. It's a proven formula, easy to learn but hard to master.

Tap Road 2 keeps that spirit alive but deepens it, evolving from a “one-button” game into a multi-mode environment with clearly defined difficulty levels, from the laid-back Classic mode for novices to the tough Ultimate mode for professionals.

Conclusion

Tap Road 2 delivers a faster and more challenging endless runner experience with new obstacles, unique modes and advanced tests for reflexes, memory and observation. The game keeps the original charm while introducing fresh mechanics that push players to overcome higher limits.
