In Zombie Dash you are in a high speed chase where even a few seconds of hesitation can get you caught by the whole zombie horde after you. The character is always moving ahead on colourful 3D low-poly tracks, and your mission is to change lanes at the proper time, avoid hazards and find a method to survive till the finish of the level.
The game is appealing because it takes a very simple running mechanic and turns it into a much more intense reflex challenge. You don't have to control the character all the time to run or jump. Instead, direct your gaze down the road, especially as obstacles begin to develop in higher density.
Each level consists of a multi-lane track with various obstacles. Your way may suddenly be blocked by wooden boxes or tree trunks, low fences or farm vehicles. Select the wrong lane and your character will crash and lose speed.
You can navigate between lanes with A/D or the left/right arrow keys. The trick is to be seeing the scenario a few steps before it happens, not to be altering direction all the time. Sometimes the hazard of changing lanes too early is greater than that of staying where you are.
Crossing the finish line completes the level and gives you an opportunity to earn up to three stars. You will also find gold coins along the road to collect. In the shop, you may use these coins to unlock new clothes for your character.
