Paper Racer

Paper Racer is an off-road racing game with realistic physics and a distinctive hand-drawn graphic style, providing a different experience from many of the standard racing games. Players will control various vehicles to conquer obstacle-filled tracks, perform spectacular stunts, collect stars, and test their skills on thousands of community-created levels.

Paper Racer Gameplay

From the start, players will control a small motorcycle navigating steep slopes, deep pits, loops, mechanical traps, and countless bizarre obstacles.

The objective seems simple:

  • Drive the vehicle to the finish line.
  • Collect as many stars as possible.
  • Prevent the rider from falling off the vehicle.

However, the difficulty increases significantly as the game progresses. Short but treacherous tracks will force players to carefully calculate every jump, every acceleration, and even the vehicle's lean angle.

The Physics System Creates The Challenge

Physics is the soul of Paper Racer.

The vehicle is constantly affected by:

  • Gravity
  • Inertia
  • Speed
  • Angle of Inclination
  • Landing Point

How Physics Affects Your Ride

This means:

  • Jumping too hard can cause the vehicle to flip over.
  • Landing on the front wheel can easily cause accidents.
  • Climbing hills requires maintaining proper traction.
  • Climbing downhill too quickly causes the vehicle to lose control.

Six Vehicle Types

The game offers many different types of vehicles, each possessing:

  • Unique acceleration capabilities.
  • Different stability.
  • Unique weight.
  • Different traction.
  • Different physics responses.

Some vehicles are suitable for challenging terrain, while others are better suited for high-speed races.

Tips To Help You Pass Levels More Easily

Don't Just Focus On Accelerating

In Paper Racer, excessive speed often leads to loss of control. Accelerate just enough to hold your car steady.

Landing On The Back Wheel

It is best to land on the back wheel. It absorbs the shock better and is less likely to throw you over.

Always Vary Your Lean Angle

Timing your tilts will assist your car retain balance when climbing hills or making large jumps.

Think Of The Ground

If you die on a hard level, make a note of where the obstacles are and try again, but with a different strategy than just speeding.

Change Vehicle

Some levels are good for light cars, while others need more stable vehicles.
