Shell Survivor is a roguelite action survival game where you embody a small, scarred egg and fight against hordes of ferocious aliens in a dark graveyard. The automatic weapon system allows you to focus on dodging, gathering materials, and upgrading your equipment to overcome 20 waves of monsters, defeat the final boss, and unlock more challenging trials.
Shell Survivor doesn't require you to unlock weapons by grinding through numerous levels. All 17 characters are available from the start, but building your power in each turn is what makes the difference.
Materials collected from aliens are used for two purposes: shopping and experience. When you level up you choose one of four stat boosts. In between rounds, the shop is open to buy new equipment, sell unwanted stuff, or exchange bad decisions.
An important choice to make is whether to add weaponry or combine current ones. Two identical items of the same level can be combined into a stronger version, up to level 4. Meanwhile, the number of weapons you can carry is limited to six. Careless shopping can cause you to miss opportunities to create a more effective equipment set.

Enemies come in droves and it’s risky to run in a set circle. Find open space before you become cornered.
High damage doesn’t always fix everything. Consider the attack range of the item, as well as its support capabilities.
Wave 20 lasts up to 90 seconds and has a final boss. Being overly frugal with resources in the early stages can leave you without the power you need most.
After completing the standard mode, you can increase the difficulty through Danger levels or try Nightmare under more unfavorable conditions. Endless is for those who wish to keep fighting forever with the difficulty growing with each round and a boss coming every 5 rounds.
You can also choose to reject up to 8 items before starting the game. This is useful if you wish to limit goods that do not match your planned strategy.
What makes Shell Survivor appealing is that every round is a distinct challenge: what to pick, what to hold on to and how to move to survive another round.
