Tiny Garden War

Tiny Garden War turns a tiny garden into a battlefield, with plants having to fight off waves of incoming zombies. At first, the gameplay looks familiar: pick out choose plants, put them in empty areas, stop foes from reaching the end of the course. But the further you go into this the more crucial it is to know where to put your plants and when to use them.

How Does A Level Start?

The garden is usually rather peaceful at first. Zombies are not yet in significant numbers, so there's time to watch the lanes and build your defences. This is not a time to be rushing to cover all the ground.

Some plants have long range attack ability, good for positioning behind and continually damage. Plants that are more resistant can do the job of covering the front. If you coordinate these two groups well, zombies will take a while to get over the barrier, while getting hit from behind continually.

The problems start to occur when you try to attack many directions at once. You’ll have vacant space in other regions if you plant too many in one lane. So instead of only concentrating on the nearest zombie, players have to be looking at the entire garden and predicting where the next pressure point will be.

Breaking Vases Not Always The Safe Option

Arcade offers more than the standard Adventure advancement challenges. Vasebreaker is a fairly curious circumstance, when things on the field conceal unknown contents.

A vase might conceal a useful plant, but it might also conceal a zombie. That makes smashing vases a tactical choice rather than merely a means of clearing a path. If your team is weak, opening too many vases at once can make you face more enemies than you are ready for.

Three Types Of Pressure, Three Modes In Tiny Garden War

  • Adventure is good for level-based play. You will face different zombie formations as you go and should change your formation to continue to advance.
  • Survival challenges your skills in keeping your defences up during long fights. Pressure will mount up and a structure that only works early on will not be able to hold its own.
  • Arcade adds a layer of challenge to the gameplay and Vasebreaker is the most obvious illustration of how the game can transform a simple action into a risky option.

Where To Put Plants To Prevent Vulnerabilities?

Building A Balanced Defence

A somewhat simple rule: don't put all your defence system in one place.

Break the garden up into sections, see which roads are under the most stress, and then add plants. Ranged attacking plants should be safely placed to keep damage and tank units can remain in front to prolong their defence.

If zombies are piling up in numbers, focus on buttressing weak points rather than moving into already-safe territory. If your team is balanced, you usually have more options if things start to go wrong.

Tiny Garden War doesn't involve elaborate tactics, yet every placement of a plant can influence the next few minutes of the game.
