Trees Hate You

Trees Hate You is a 2D platformer game with a "rage bait" style, where the seemingly peaceful forest constantly creates unexpected traps to challenge the player. Every step becomes a risky situation, forcing you to observe carefully and react quickly if you want to progress further.

The Storyline? It's Just An Excuse To "Torment" You!

Theoretically, Trees Hate You tells the story of a hiker who just wants to clean up their picnic and go home. But no, the forest has held a meeting and decided that you will never see the sun again.

No cheesy dialogue, no villain monologues. Your enemy is the trees. Only trees. And perhaps that's enough to create a nightmare.

Gameplay In Trees Hate You

You control your character using the basic keys (A/D to move, Space to jump).

Trees Hate You operates on a "Gotcha!" mechanism (caught red-handed). The trees here aren't still. They:

  • Punch: You run past, and the passive tree suddenly swings its "kick," sending you flying like a mosquito.
  • Armor: Seriously. You think it's just a normal log until it pulls out an AK-47 to "greet" you. (There's a video of a streamer shouting, "Oh my god, I thought it was a jungle, but it's the Vietnam War!" - and indeed, he wasn't wrong.)
  • Fire Cannons: Some trees are equipped with... cannons. That's right, cannons.

Forget "Skills," Learn To "Remember"!

Trees Hate You doesn't reward good players, it rewards players who... "die a lot."

Survival Guide After 100 Deaths

  • Don't Trust Your Eyes: That shade isn't for resting, it's a damage zone.
  • Baiting Effect: Approach any tree and back away immediately. It will unleash an attack. After the tree misses its punch or shoots, you have a very short cooldown to dash through.
  • Hats Collection: The recent demo updated the hat collection feature. While hats don't protect you from bullets, if you're going to die, die in style.

Should You Play Trees Hate You?

If you like the "quick death - quick replay" style of games, Trees Hate You Online is worth a try. Conversely, if you're not used to being constantly trolled, the game can be quite frustrating but still addictive.
